New forensic report in RG Kar case reveals woman's DNA found in victim, Sanjay's DNA also detected

A comprehensive report from the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) has surfaced in the RG Kar case, revealing crucial details from the DNA analysis of the victim’s body. The CFSL report, based on the examination of 29 DNA samples collected from various parts of the victim’s body, shows that the victim's body contained genetic material from multiple individuals. Notably, the vaginal swabs taken from the victim revealed the presence of DNA from another woman, alongside the victim's own genetic profile.

The CFSL report further indicates that the DNA found in the victim’s large intestine, nipple, and vaginal area did not match the victim’s own DNA or that of Sanjay, the primary suspect. Instead, the genetic material found in these areas appears to belong to another woman. This has raised questions about the possibility of a third party’s involvement, though the exact circumstances of how this DNA was transferred to the victim’s body remain unclear.

In addition to the DNA of the other woman, the CFSL analysis confirmed the presence of Sanjay’s DNA in the victim’s nipple area. The report also identified the presence of DNA from at least one additional male individual in the same area, suggesting that multiple individuals may have been involved in the assault. The identification of multiple DNA profiles in several areas of the victim’s body, including both male and female genetic material, complicates the investigation and raises further questions about the sequence of events.

The investigation has also raised questions about the crime scene. The victim’s body was discovered in the seminar room of the RG Kar hospital’s emergency building. Despite this, the CFSL report indicates that there were no signs of struggle or resistance on the body or the surrounding area, suggesting that the victim may not have fought back during the attack. Moreover, forensic experts have noted that it would have been difficult for the perpetrator to enter and exit the seminar room unnoticed, adding complexity to the investigation.

These new forensic findings provide further complexity to the case, especially with the detection of DNA from multiple individuals. The CFSL report has not only confirmed the presence of Sanjay’s DNA but also revealed the possibility of other individuals’ involvement. The investigation continues as authorities work to determine how these DNA samples were deposited and to clarify the full scope of the crime, including the possible involvement of multiple perpetrators.
